Podcasting comes to the masses!

Adam Curry has partnered with the SIRIUS Satellite radio network to launch Podshow, Adam Currys lastest venture in the podcasting world. With Podshow, Currys plans on
helping people to “produce, post, distribute and market (their) PodShow.”

Podcasting, in which hobbyists create their own programming to be
downloaded to computers or MP3 players, has taken off in the last few
months. Sirius' partnership with Curry follows Infinity's plans to
unveil an all-podcast station, San Francisco's KYCY (KYOURADIO), which
launches on May 16. Unlike Infinity's station, which will have content
exclusively from listeners, Curry's show will feature talent and music
from around the world.

Curry helped develop the digital tools necessary for podcasting less
than a year ago. In less than six months, over six million people have
listened to podcasts. “Podcasting is not just about portable media
players,” Curry says. “By combining the creative talent and content of
available podcasting with superior programming of Sirius, we can create
and showcase talent that terrestrial radio listeners would not be able
to hear. We think that this partnership is about introducing the best
of podcasting to the world.”

“Podcasting allows an amazing new group of producers and artists to
share their talent and creativity,” Sirius president of entertainment
and sports Scott Greenstein says. “With this new venture, Sirius and
PodShow.com will bring the best of podcasting's most innovative players
and artists directly to Sirius subscribers.”

The launch of PodShow also coincides with the launch of Curry‚s
PodShow.com, an Internet podcasting network aimed and promoting
podcasting to listeners, podcast producers and advertisers wishing to
reach podcast audiences.
